Safeware, Inc. is seeking a Regional Sales Manager (RSM) to drive growth and support its profitability initiatives and values in the Northeast territory. The RSM will have a field sales force of direct reports for whose success they are directly responsible. Success in the territory will be measured in sales growth, customer growth, and the appropriate measurements to ensure the company’s growth is profitable. The RSM is a Director Level position at Safeware. Safeware RSM’s are expected to contribute to the success and profitability of Safeware as a company, with extra focus on their region of responsibility.

Responsibilities:
• Manages a team of sales representatives in geography, and sales territory and is responsible for the growth of the said territory.
• Interfaces with other Safeware Managers (Marketing, IT, Purchasing, for example) to ensure that customer and company goals and objectives are met.
• Oversees the CRM’s use, field utilization of the CRM, and reviews input from the reps on the CRM.
• Ensures customer satisfaction in assigned accounts.
• Works with customer service to ensure that customers are quoted, and orders are processed promptly.
• Handles customer complaints as necessary and makes sure that customer service objectives are met.
• Develops a regional sales plan and executes the plan to ensure regional success. Supervises the development of territory plans for assigned territory sales representatives and follows up on their plans to ensure success.
• Learns products and works with vendors to ensure customer needs are met.
• Learns contract vehicles and works to ensure that sales are aligned with proper contracts, and that customers well understand contracts.
• Contacts new and established customers to create opportunities.
• Develops quotes and a pipeline of opportunities.
• Closes sales and ensures customer satisfaction with their purchase.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related field, or equivalent experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
• Minimum of five years of government sales experience, proven work experience in a sales management or relevant senior sales role
• Ability to work well with teams

Physical Requirements:
• This position requires travel within the specified sales region. This includes air and automobile travel in both short and long distances.
An RSM must:
Reside within the NE territory;
Be a licensed driver and safe to drive;
Have a good driving record;
Be able to travel with overnight stays; and
Be able to travel by air.

• The RSM must be able to move samples and demo and trade show exhibits in and out of his/her vehicle.
• The RSM must be able to clearly communicate in person and in writing to customers and direct reports.
• The RSM must be organized and able to retain and document and follow up customer information.
